Private insurance hasn't worked, not denying that. But government insurance, by design has to spread out over so much, that you think you have insurance, but you spend all our time trying to file the paperwork and trying to figure out the cost and on and on. (I handle government based insurance called medicare for my parents.) Believe me, it is no cup of tea--and the prices for the various drugs change every year--by up to 6 times the original amount on some of the drugs. Same thing with some office visits. You have coverage at x out of pocket one year--the next--rules change. It's a nightmare of paperwork, just as bad or worse than running the tax stuff on a small business each year.Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11234907275906877802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3001434439078518468.post-15644981822891776962009-01-28T10:38:00.000-05:002009-01-28T10:38:00.000-05:00It hasn't been as big a deal the past few years, b...It hasn't been as big a deal the past few years, but some groups once liked to publicize that special day in April or June or whenever http://www.taxfoundation.org/taxfreedomday/
when you started earning money for yourself instead of the government. But I guess it doesn't bother them if it's a private insurance company that you then have to work off paying for the next six weeks.

That was also one of the things I disliked most about Steve and I parting company, that after a bit he doesn't have his job-based health insurance, that he doesn't have any money of his own to buy, and it shouldn't be that way.The Brillig Bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07886394602447693115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3001434439078518468.post-58481736890442591152009-01-28T10:10:00.000-05:002009-01-28T10:10:00.000-05:00The other truth about the insurance thing is that ...The other truth about the insurance thing is that it ends up hampering your clients, too. One of the main reasons a lot of us stay at our day jobs is insurance. My wife already works out of the house, and makes good money, but until there a better way of getting insurance for single-owner businesses, I'm stuck writing whatever I can at lunch or in the evenings when I'd rather be spending time with my wife.

Point is, I'm with you.Tim Akershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01749644135364065658noreply@blogger.com
